Feltri Marone Rises from the Ashes: A €8 Million Investment Fuels Rebirth After Devastating Fire

Five years after the fire that ravaged much of its plant, Feltri Marone has celebrated its remarkable rebirth with an inaugural event attended by over 300 people, including employees, customers, and distinguished guests. President Paolo Franchi hailed the occasion as "a celebration of the power of rebirth," underscoring the company’s resilience and renewed production momentum.

Reconstruction and Investment

The ambitious reconstruction project required a total investment of about €8 million. Half of the production space was completely rebuilt, bringing the industrial site to an operational area of approximately 12,500 square meters. The new Feltri Marone is now equipped with a Class A energy system and adheres to the latest anti-seismic standards, thanks to a design by Viola Associates engineering firm based in Palazzolo sull'Oglio (Italy).
While the first phase of reconstruction has been completed, a second phase is already planned, which will see a second floor above the weaving department. This expansion, already approved, is expected to be finalized within the next seven years.

A Community-Centered Event

The reopening ceremony attracted prominent figures, including Brescia Prefect Andrea Polichetti, Marone Mayor Alessio Rinaldi, and Confindustria Brescia Vice President Dr. Francesco Franceschetti. The event was further dignified by the presence of Bishop Pier Antonio Tremolada, who blessed the facility, and Lombardy Region Environment Councillor Giorgio Maione.
Achieving Success Despite Challenges
Despite the challenges of restarting, Feltri Marone has achieved outstanding results, solidifying its turnover, with 75% of its business now coming from international markets. These results reaffirm the company's robust position in the global market.

The Journey to Rebirth

In 2019, a fire caused by a short circuit destroyed more than 60% of Feltri Marone’s facility, with damages estimated at over €20 million. In the aftermath, the company relocated part of its operations to a nearby temporary facility to ensure production continuity. The reconstruction demanded immense effort, but thanks to the determination of the Feltri Marone team, support from trade unions, and the solidarity of the local community, this extraordinary achievement became a reality.
Beyond the physical rebuilding, Feltri Marone also invested in new talent, hiring young professionals to strengthen both its technical and commercial divisions. The company is now equipped with the latest technological advancements to enhance its operations further.

A New Facility for a Bright Future

Today, Feltri Marone boasts a state-of-the-art facility spread over four floors. The basement includes changing rooms, a warehouse, and a fireproof tank, while the ground floor is dedicated to shipping and fabric finishing. The first floor houses the splicing department, and the second-floor stores semi-finished and finished fabrics.

Looking Forward

With a blessing from the Bishop of Brescia and music from the local band, the inauguration symbolized not just the reopening of the plant but the unwavering resilience that has guided Feltri Marone through these challenging years. The new facility represents a fresh start for this historic company, one that, with its adaptability and innovation, faces the future with optimism and confidence.
